This one day course running at the Festival of Happiness qualifies participants as Mental Health Champions and has a workplace focus. It is very suitable for managers or anyone who represents their area. It concentrates on depression and anxiety and also references a few other conditions. Participants learn to:

• Recognise the main signs and symptoms of common mental health issues, whilst understanding that we are all on the mental health continuum

• Provide initial support using the tool ‘ALGEE’ (including suicide crisis) and will apply it to workplace case studies

• Guide a person towards appropriate professional help

• Be mindful of their own wellbeing by exploring their ‘stress container’

• Develop an understanding of how you can create and maintain a healthier workforce - the HSE six sources of workplace stress and NICE guidelines are referenced

Participants receive a manual, workbook, and e-certificate.
