Graham Kemp

Mini bio

Graham has a wealth of marketing industry experience. He was the global chief executive of The Marketing Store and also the chairman of the MAA between 2005 and 2008.

A founding partner of Wiki-Solutions, the research and insights company, he joined the MAA in November 2016 to help shape the future of the organisation while also providing day-to-day support and leadership for the MAA team.

Tracey-Ann joined the MAA in 2009 and is the first port of call for members’ enquiries to troubleshoot general questions about MAA member services. She oversees the member agency showcase on the website and is responsible for membership communications on events, training and the MAA networking groups as well as general information.  Tracey-Ann also oversees the MAA’s fortnightly column in the Guardian and troubleshoots any queries agencies have throughout the process.

She also organizes the MAA’s events such as the annual Marketing Industry Triathlon, the Marketing for Startup Britain event and member dinners and networking events.

Tracey-Ann has worked at various agencies during her career including PHD, MPG, and VCCP as well as 14 year’s at Arc Worldwide.

Matt joined the team in February 2016 to look after membership activation.

His role is to turn member agencies into activists, connecting them with all they need and want from the variety of services we deliver for the industry.

Prior to joining Matt spent four years as a freelance consultant to various agencies on business development strategy. He is also known for his consultancy roles for the DMA both in the UK and US.  He’s launched a tech start-up for the drinks industry and before that founded a media company producing magazines and events for the promotional marketing sector.

Suzanne joined the MAA in 2009 as Head of Professional Development for the MAA before becoming Head of Agency and Talent Development in April 2013.  Suzanne is responsible for working with the 80-plus agencies in the MAA’s membership to help them maximise the full range of services available, as well as provide access to talent initiatives offered by the trade body. She continues to oversee the MAA’s training programs, including the Diploma in Integrated Marketing and the Future Leaders Academy, which she was responsible for introducing last year.

Suzanne’s remit includes introducing agencies to free member benefits such as the Agency MOT, Credentials Health Check, Pitch Protection, Client/Agency Model Contracts, Employee Satisfaction Surveys and legal advice.  Agencies are also offered access to benchmarking research covering agency growth, fees and remuneration and salary and benefits, amongst others.

Prior to joining the MAA, Barnes was client services director of Arc Worldwide and sat on the MAA board (then MCCA).  At Arc she ran the agency’s Fiat business and was responsible for managing the transition from IMP to Arc, as well as the new branding for the agency.   After leaving Arc she held various senior consultancy positions, including operations director, marketing director and managing director within a recruitment specialist firm.

Emma Hook

Team Assistant/Office Manager       

Mini bio

Emma joined the MAA in 2015 as Team Assistant.

She co-ordinates all external and internal training courses, ensuring a seamless delivery on Bespoke, A Morning on…, Excellence, Future Leaders Academy and the Diploma. She is also Office Manager, ensuring the smooth running of the MAA offices and assisting the team with any other ad hoc duties.

Mini bio

Ian has 17 years experience as a journalist at marketing sector titles including PR Week, Marketing and Campaign. He also enjoyed a spell as a civil servant, editing and writing publications for government departments. He joined the MAA in October 2013 to steer its content strategy, working closely with members and media partners on telling the story of marketing agencies' innovation and diversity.

Ian joined the MAA in October 2013 to help drive its content strategy with media partners including The Guardian. In addition, he also offers writing and editing services to agencies, media owners and other companies within the marketing and advertising world.

Prior to this he worked for 13 years in various senior roles at Haymarket's Campaign, the trade title for the advertising industry. He was most recently the deputy editor of Campaign, taking responsibility for magazine content in addition to producing online news and working on special projects such as Campaign's Top 100 reports. Early in his time at Campaign, Ian specialised in covering the direct marketing sector before moving to the role of media editor, which he held for eight years, building relationships with media agencies and media owners.

Ian also worked at sister marketing press titles Marketing Direct, PR Week and Marketing as a news reporter and features writer. He also spent time at the Government's Central Office of Information, working as an editor in its publications and new media department. Ian's clients at the COI included the DTI and the Home Office.
